Area of production: Western Sicily, primarily in the province of Trapani.

Of interest: Award-winning Marinella has rich, nutty aromatic flavors that rank it with the finest fortified wines of Europe.

Tasting notes: Colored with a rich dark amber with striking red highlights, its primary aromas are of fruit and burnt sugar. Very smooth, with good acid balance, it has a hint of sweetness and a medium body. Its persistent flavors are slightly and refreshingly astringent. Whether dry or sweet, Marinella Marsala excels in the kitchen and in your glass. Drink it chilled as an aperitif or dessert wine, or on the rocks as a cocktail. Use it to make veal or chicken Marsala and zabaglione. Serve chilled, 50°F as an aperitif or dessert wine.
